This 2-meter StarTech.com USB to Serial Adapter Cable (1P6FFC-USB-SERIAL) provides seamless RS232 connectivity for legacy serial devices. Featuring the FTDI FT232R chipset, achieve baud rates up to 921.6 Kbps with 256 byte TX FIFO and 128 byte RX FIFO. The adapter includes transmit/receive LED indicators for real-time port activity monitoring and a USB LED for enumeration status. Interchangeable DB9 screws are pre-installed, while nuts are included for compatibility with other serial devices. The rugged TPE housing offers Level-4 ESD protection (15kV air/8kV contact) with copper shielding against EMI/RFI interference. Gold-plated connectors ensure optimal signal conductivity. COM Retention automatically reassigns the COM port name upon reconnection. Supports Windows 7+, macOS 10.15+, ChromeOS and Linux with automatic driver installation.
