The StarTech.com USB to serial adapter cable connects two DB9 RS-232 serial ports to a single USB-A port. The design features interchangeable DB9 screws and included nuts for compatibility with various serial devices. The TPE construction with Level-4 ESD protection (15kV air, 8kV contact) provides enhanced reliability. Copper shielding minimizes EMI/RFI interference, while gold-plated connectors improve signal conductivity. Both ports feature dedicated transmit and receive LED indicators. The adapter supports baud rates up to 921.6 Kbps with FTDI FT2232H chipset. Compatible with Windows 7+, macOS 10.9+, Linux, and Chrome OS. COM retention ensures COM port numbers are automatically reassigned upon disconnect/reconnect or system restart. Mounting bracket included.
