De StarTech.com PEX8S1050 is een interne PCIe-expansiekaart die acht RS-232 seriële poorten toevoegt aan desktopsystemen. De kaart maakt gebruik van de Systembase SB16C1058PCI-controller met 16C1050 UART-compatibiliteit en biedt bi-directionele communicatie tot 921.6 Kbps per poort met een 256-byte FIFO-buffer. Met 15kV ESD-bescherming en een breakout-kabel met 8 DB9-connectoren kan de kaart worden geconfigureerd voor optionele voeding (12V, 5V of geen) op pin 9 met maximaal 3A gezamenlijke capaciteit. De kaart ondersteunt Windows (XP en hoger) en Windows Server (2003 en hoger) en is ideaal voor POS-terminals, industriële automatisering, medische apparatuur en andere seriële toepassingen.
