This StarTech.com OM5 Laser-Optimized Multi-Mode Fiber (LOMMF) cable is specified for 40G and 100G network applications. The cable supports SWDM (Shortwave Wavelength Division Multiplexing) over the 850-953nm wavelength range with VCSEL, providing enhanced channel isolation and superior performance compared to OM4 cables. Ceramic ferrules ensure precise fiber alignment and minimal insertion loss. LC-LC UPC-polished ends significantly reduce return loss. The 50/125µm multimode fiber is jacketed in Aramid-reinforced LSZH (Low-Smoke Zero-Halogen) material, enabling safe installation in poorly ventilated spaces, vehicles, and residential buildings. Bending radius: 6cm loaded, 3cm unloaded. Individually tested to TIA/EIA-568 standards. Insertion loss ≤0.3dB, return loss ≥30dB.
