Unlike standard USB-to-serial converter cables where conversion occurs at the DB9 end, this cable features a converter chip at the USB end. This design overcomes the typical 15ft (4.6m) technical USB limit and enables serial extensions up to 50ft+ depending on application. The cable works with Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Vista/7/Server 2008 R2, Mac OS X, and Linux. Features Prolific PL2303HXD chipset, maximum baud rate of 921.6 Kbps, and 192 bytes FIFO buffer.
